3rd February 2008 Windsurfing: Rutland Water Whitwell Wind Direction: SSE Wind Stength: F4-5 Surf / Sea State: Pretty Flat Air Temperature: 5degC Sea Temperature: Cold!!! Weather: Sun & Cloud Max Speed: Distance Covered: First sess of the year and 'too eager to get out' probably sums it up!! Arrived at 12ish and being a sailing club regular I didn't have the usual visual clues of the windspeed so under-rigged and went out on the 5.8 & 93 FSW. Planed some of the time but slogged along mostly until I decided to go up wind and nearer the dam. Wind was a lot better but got a bit carried away after a few jumps and went for a forward = dinged nose :-(. Plodded back in to get the Freestyle out and rigged the 7.0. Messed about nearer the launch spot then practicing gybes. Off the water at 4. |
